Lucas Black Added to Fast and Furious 7 Ohh and 8 AND 9!

So there are 2 big things going on with the Fast and Furious Franchise.

1. This is exactly what I've been waiting to hear. Now that the movies have realigned and the time line is current in the series, its time Lucas Black gets back in the car. Deadline is reporting that Lucas Black has signed on to join the Fast and Furious 7 group. This is huge news since he fit the part so well and many were disappointed when the timelines got all jacked up after Tokyo Drift leaving no easy way for him to stay in the series. But F&F 7 rights the ship and here comes Black. Ohh right and did I mention that Kurt Russell is in for 7 also? Honestly, this franchise knows exactly how to entertain and well...print money

2. Now this technically is the bigger piece of news. Deadline reports that not only will there be a 7th film, but there will also be an 8th and 9th! F&F films get better and better with each one and they add to the cast every time. And not with B actors but with legitimate stars. Just think about it. With the 7th movie alone they will be adding Lucas Black, Jason Statham, and Kurt Russell. Who knows what and who will get for an 8th and 9th movie.

All I know is that I never want this series to end and I will be first in line on July 11, 2014 for Fast 7!

Captain Phillips - starring Tom Hanks

Who doesn't like pirates? We all do. But you know what I like better than pirates? Navy SEALS. 'Captain Phillips' stars Tom Hanks who plays Captain Richard Phillips, the captain of a US-flagged cargo ship that was hijacked in 2009 by Somali pirates (not the good kind of pirates). Not in 200 years has an American cargo ship been hijacked and the Navy SEALS are sent in to put an end to it. Check out the trailer below. Im not digging the accent, but Im sure Hanks will do a good job with this.

Grudge Match - Starring Stalone & De Niro

Ok, I did not expect to like this as much as I did. I Just watched the below trailer for the movie 'Grudge Match' starring Sylvester Stallone, and Robert De Niro. They play 2 ex boxers who are talked out of retirement to settle a score 50 years after their last fight. I've recently wondered who the next long term action star would be, and I think since no one seems to be stepping up, we are going to see more movies with aged stars taking these kinds of rolls. Similar to 'Space Cowboys', 'The Last Stand' and 'Last Vegas'. I certainly dont mind watching these great actors continue to take big movie rolls. But I digress.

Raging Bull, meet Rocky Balboa, throw in some comedy from Kevin Hart and Alan Arkin and I think we've got a pretty interesting movie here. Looks like a lot of fun but I suspect there will be a good message thrown in here somewhere. I'll say that De Niro has his work cut out for him seeing how Stallone is still ripped from playing movies like the Expendables series. So it should be fun to watch how these two old time fighters morph back into some form of their former fit characters.

Release Date: Dec 25, 2013
(Last time Stallone fought on Christmas it worked out pretty well for him)

Homefront - starring James Franco & Jason Statham

'Homefront' stars Jason Statham who plays an ex DEA agent who moves he and his daughter to a small town. Shortly after arriving he gets mixed up with a local meth drug dealer played by James Franco. Homefront was written by Sylvester Stallone which is probably why this Statham movie doesnt look like the 100 others he's made. I mean lets be honest, Jason Statham has really only made 1 movie, copied many times, and renamed. But looks like Stallone has written something with a lot more substance here and Im instantly drawn to it based on what Ive seen from this trailer. Not to mention that Franco's character looks pretty evil and provides a great deal of stress in just this 2 min clip. Check it out for yourself. Looks like a pretty good action thriller.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D - newest trailer

Below is the newest trailer for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television show. This one shows off the lighter side of the show. I really think with the popularity of the Marvel movies, that it would take a real train wreck of a show to make this not watchable.

RoboCop - Trailer

The 'RoboCop' remake will be released  Feb 7th 2014 luckily just in time for Valentine's Day. Based on the trailer, posted below, there are some obvious observations. 1. The suit looks amazing and even cooler when it goes black with the red knightrider light. 2. The way in which Murphy gets hurt so badly that he needs the suit is very different. In the original movie he is shot up so brutally that its hard to even watch. One of the most disturbing scenes of any movie really. In this remake it appears that he gets hurt via a car bomb. Some of you may hope for the more graphic attack. I for one am glad to see a tamer version. By no means does this mean that the rest of the movie will be tame. Im just glad that this scene seems to not be quite the traumatic scene that it was in 1987. I suspect that the new RoboCop will have more of a 'Dredd' feel, just maybe not that one part.

As far as the casting goes, I love seeing Michael Keaton and Samuel L. Jackson getting into this movie. Should make for a fun movie no matter how the action plays out.
Check out the trailer below. Tell me what you think. Looking forward to this?

God's Not Dead - Movie Trailer

'God's Not Dead' Is the story of a philosophy professor who takes on a student that wants to battle him on the existence of God. Below I've posted the trailer and an interview with Kevin Sorbo who plays the professor. Kevin talks about why you should see this movie and what interested him about making it. Looks thought provoking and pretty well made despite its low budget.

Kurt Russell may join Fast & Furious 7 cast

As if the cast of the Fast & Furious series couldnt get more star studded, it looks as though Kurt Russell may be joining up! Seems they are taking plays right out of the Expendables play book. Bringing together the best, most recognizable actors, past or present. I cant think of anyone better. Of course there are obvious questions that come with this, what role will he be playing, can we expect to see the Pork Chop Express as his vehicle of choice, will he have an eye patch? But seriously, Russell has made some amazing action movies and to see him get a part in this, even if its the villain, I have to believe it will only make this movie rock even more. Wouldnt bother me one bit if Kurt took the lead of this whole thing. Im in! He's already proven he is no stranger to performance driving with Stuntman Mike and Of course the great Jack Burton.

Jack Burton: Like I told my last wife, I says, "Honey, I never drive faster than I can see. Besides that, it's all in the reflexes."

July 11, 2014 cant get here soon enough

Gravity or no Gravity

Clearly this is 'Open Water' but just in space. And the trailers are amazing and visually stunning but they are only 2 mins long. Can 'Gravity' with its star cast of Clooney and Bullock carry the 2 hour movie? I don't know, but its getting great early reviews. Im skeptical. Either way it seems like if you're willing to drop 10 bucks to see it, you should throw in $2 more and watch it in 3D, otherwise you can play it safe and just rent it. I feel like we may be seeing the best parts of the movie in the trailer, though Im sure there will be lots of drama and stress in the few mins after the drifting event that should make for a good watch. Its up to you. Im still not sure if I'll be seeing it in the theater. I don't see anything else worth watching on Oct 4th, so I just might go.
