Escape Plan - Trailer one

Here is the newest trailer for 'Escape Plan' starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, and Jim Caviezel. Lately Arnold and Sly haven't been known for movies with compelling plots, but Escape Plan looks a tad better in that department. After seeing this trailer I'm guessing Sean Archer from 'Face/Off' is having flashbacks.

Pacific Rim - Trailer 4

Here is what is probably the last trailer before the release of this movie. Its a 2 min clip of action and stress. And I'm digging the speech by Idris Elba. This scene reminds me of Bill Pullman's epic speech in Independence Day. Not better than of course...just similar. And if Pacific Rim wasnt as hyped as it has been I would be so sure that it will a hit. But all the hype worries me. Im going to have to forget about all those movies in the past that have been given this much hype and have failed because I really want this to live up to these amazing trailers they are teasing us with.

Enjoy these two mins.

Disneys Frozen - Teaser Trailer

'Frozen' is Disney's latest animated creation and is loosely based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairly tale, The Snow Queen. This is the story of Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell, star of Veronica Mars). Anna joins up with a local mountain man named Kristoff (voiced by Jonathan Groff) and together they set off on an adventure to find Anna's sister Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel).

Supporting comedic characters include a funny snowman named Olaf (voiced by Josh Gad), and a crazy reindeer named Sven. In the trailer posted below these are the only two characters you'll see. We'll have to wait for the first official trailer to see clips of Anna and Kristoff. The trailer looks like an Ice Age type movie tailored to very young kids, but i believe that is just for this teaser trailer and the full length movie will be more like the picture posted above, ie more like Disney's Tangled.

This movie will be available in 3D and standard 2D.

Elysium - trailer two

'Elysium' is set in 2154 and is about a world in which the rich get to live on a space craft in orbit and everyone else has to live on a ruined Earth. It stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. Everything in me says stay away, but the concept is cool and since the guy directing it is the same one who did District 9, which was fantastic, hopefully it works. It took me awhile to believe that Matt Damon could be an action start but the Bourne movies convinced me that he could. But this being a Sci-Fi action movie may be more than he can handle. I suspect Jodie Foster will be Jodie Foster so no worries there. This shares the same release date at Disney's Planes so if you aren't taking your kids to that, this may be something you want to try. The trailer looks pretty good though. Check it out below...

Snow White and the Huntsman 2 - Announced

'Snow White and the Huntsman 2' has recently been announced. My thought is, do we have to? The first movie was surprisingly ok. With the first movie we had a great performance from Charlize Theron who played Ravenna, and the currently popular Chris Hemsworth who did an ok job with his role as The Huntsman. I believe it goes without saying, but I'll do it anyway, Kristen Stewart goes out of her way to hurt every movie she is in. If this movie does go past 'announced' and its actually filmed, can we at least rename it to 'The Huntsman and other people'? Well at least I tried. Anyway they havent announced the plot yet, but I am curious where you take this story. We'll see.

300: Rise of an Empire - Trailer

'300: Rise of an Empire' is still in the filming process, but we've got a trailer to tide us over. 'Tide'...see what I did there?
One by land, sequel by sea. Xerxes and his Persians are still at it, but Themistocles and the Greeks still wont back down. Luckily for Themistocles, it looks like he has more than 300 soldiers to work with. Check out this very action packed trailer below.

Expected release date: March 7, 2014

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug - Trailer 1

Like Chinese food, I can eat a ton of it and 5 seconds later Im ready for more! The Hobbit is no different. Released is the trailer for 'The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug'. The elves scream cgi, but I think we can forgive that. The rest of the trailer is amazing. Hard to be patient to see the movie and more of Smaug!

The Family - trailer one

'The Family' appears to be a Dark comedy about a family choosing to get out of the organized crime life. In doing so they get into the witness protection program. 'The Family' stars Acadamy Award winner Robert De Niro, the ageless Michele Pfeiffer, who sounds like she is struggling with that accent but we'll forgive her, and Tommy Lee Jones. This movie looks like it will probably be predictable but there is enough in this trailer to give this a pretty good shot at being a fun watch. We'll need to see another trailer or two before we decide if this is a theater or rental movie. Check out the clip below and judge for yourself.

Monsters University - Final Trailer

It took 12 years, but we have our first sequel to 'Monsters Inc'. Here we have 'Monsters University', which will be a look into the college years of Mike Wazowski and James Sullivan. The trailers look ok but it will be hard to beat the success that the original had in 2001. We'll have to see if this can live up to the high expectations set. The movie is set to come out June 21 of this summer. Take a look at the final trailer that was released for this movie below.

Fury - Pre-Production

Still of Brad Pitt in Inglourious Basterds
'Fury' starring Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf is currently in pre-production and so far there is very little known about it. But when you combine Americans, Nazis, WWII, and an estimated $80,000,000 budget, there is a pretty good shot that the movie is going to be worth seeing. We'll know more as the details are released. Expected release date: Nov 14 2014

Dan Harmon - Back where he belongs...Community

Dan Harmon, back to Community! Any fan of Community knows what this means for this cult following show. Season 1 was fun but predicable. Simply a show about people going to a community college. There was some quarkyness, but it wasnt until season 2 that this show deliberately jumped the shark, or nuked the fridge every chance they got. And that's what made this show great. Dan Harmon was responsible for great episodes like 'Pillows and Blankets', 'A Fist Full or Paintballs', and 'For a Few Paintballs More'. These are just a few of his instant classics.

However, season 4 took a noticable turn for the worse and you could make the strong argument that it was because Dan Harmon left as the writer.  Many thought the show was done and at one point it even stopped airing mid season for a few months. Not a great sign. But it did return for the last remaining shows which was odd to see Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas episodes months after the holidays. As many NBC shows started dropping off the play lists most people assumed Community was on the chopping block too. But NBC has chosen to keep them around. Maybe its simply because aside from Parks and Rec they have nothing left mentioning.

From a fans perspective its great they are bringing the show back in any capacity, but to find out that Dan Harmon is writing again for Community is the best news. Harmon made it known via Twitter that he is back and it sounds like the cast had a lot to do with his return. Harmon gives Community the best possible chance for survival. Well that, and all the amazing cult like following of Community fans that have fought so hard to keep this show afloat. Take a deep breath fans, enjoy this moment, Community is back, and so is Harmon! Ok break is over, get out there and tell your friends to watch. There is no reason this isn't the best show on prime time TV.
